Vodka: The Cheapskate’s Multi-Purpose Solution!

We all remember those great scenes from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the scenes where the father’s solution to everything was to “put Windex on it” – no matter what the problem was. Well, vodka is another one of those all-purpose things that is quite handy to have at home!

A bottle of the good stuff will easily run you $15 to $30, but you can buy a bottle of cheap vodka – not for drinking, but for use around your home!

Caulking Cleaner

To clean the caulking around your sinks, bathtub, and toilet, put some vodka in a spray bottle with water – and spray it onto the caulking. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, and use a scrub brush to gently scrub off any mold or mildew still on the caulking. Rinse it off with warm water, and enjoy your newly mold and mildew-free sink – all thanks to the alcohol in the vodka.

Bandage Remover

Got a Band-Aid sticking to a particularly hairy spot on your body? Is the adhesive on the underside of the bandage going to pull your arm or leg hairs out when you remove it, or is it going to stick to the newly formed scab?
